This top 10 firm is seeking a capital allowances expert at the Associate Director level. The team works on a national basis, so the role can be based in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Cardiff, Liverpool, Cambridge, Reading, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leicester, or Newcastle. They advise real estate funds, global institutional investors, REITs, private investors, and the public sector on investment into UK and pan-European real estate, providing tax structuring, compliance, and due diligence advice across all sectors including commercial, office, student housing, industrial logistics, retail, and hotels. They also handle Stamp Taxes, Capital Gains, Inheritance Tax, and related niche markets.

The team is open to flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours and job shares, supporting work-life balance.

The Role

As an Associate Director within the Real Estate Tax team, you will:

  1. Be part of a high-performing team with substantial tenure within the firm and sector, working with high-profile clients on challenging projects.
  2. Develop junior team members, understanding their career aspirations.
  3. Engage with major clients on complex projects, including multi-jurisdictional transactions across real estate and infrastructure, with current deals ranging from £60m to over £1bn. There are significant opportunities for rapid promotion as the client base grows.
  4. Manage your own work independently, leading client interactions, project delivery, and collaboration with the Real Estate and broader Tax teams, supported by experienced partners and directors.
Candidate Profile

Minimum criteria include:

  • RICS / CTA / ACA qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in Capital Allowances
  • Experience monitoring and coaching junior team members

Preferred: Demonstrable business development skills, working collaboratively with partners and directors to build key relationships.
