Job description
POSITION

Capital Actuary or Analyst

LOCATION

London / Hybrid

Job Purpose

A commercially focused role working with the Head of Capital to provide capital modelling expertise across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quarterly and annual capital reporting across several requirements; primarily Solvency II, RBC and AM Best BCAR
  • Capital forecasts and stress & scenario testing for required entities, to meet ORSA, RSR, business planning and capital management
  • Optimising capital assessments and liquidity for own risk assessment and reporting
  • Support the business in assessing new coverholders; highlighting capital concerns and contributing to design of optimal structures
  • Process documentation for business continuity, external audits and regulatory purposes
  • Preparing regular reports and presentations to management on all the above as well as meeting documentation
  • Other duties as required by the Capital Function
  • To maintain compliance with any applicable UK or International statutory or regulatory obligation as required by the role. This includes but not limited to obligations arising from :
  • The prudent management of the business
  • Placing due regard on the interests of customers
  • Observing rules on Sanctions and financial crime
  • Regulatory requirements and local licensing restrictions
  • Promoting and following the Group’s whistleblowing procedures
Education / Experience
  • Studying or newly qualified actuary
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an actuarial discipline
  • General Insurance Business experience is required with experience in Capital Modelling desirable
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and proficient user of other Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with database and analytical tools such as SQL and R desirable
  • Strong analytical acumen with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and a team player
  • Ability to work with a variety of disciplines outside of the department
