A public educational institution in Manchester, England seeks a part-time Security Officer to ensure campus safety. Responsibilities include patrols, responding to incidents, enforcing regulations, and cooperation with local police. Candidates must have a high school diploma and three years of relevant law enforcement experience. CPR/AED certification is essential. This role involves weekend hours and emergency response duties.
This is a part-time, 25 hour per week position that includes weekend hours.
Performs general safety and security functions associated with patrolling, inspecting, and securing buildings and grounds, enforcing rules and regulations, responding to alarms and incidents, assisting the community and public and maintaining records. This position shall report to the College Safety & Security Supervisor at Manchester Community College.
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency.
Experience: Three years' experience in law enforcement work as a security guard/officer, police officer, corrections officer, or military police officer. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of experience.
Licensure/Certifications: Valid New Hampshire drivers’ license.
Current Incident Management System (NIMS) certification.
Detail oriented, honest, dependable, and flexible. Possess excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills, ability to exercise proper judgement and thorough report writing ability. Able to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals with the ability to handle emergency situations calmly, and efficiently as well as the ability to work well under pressure. Demonstrated knowledge of campus environment and/or security industry, relevant laws, and safety and fire prevention. Ability to work with people and secure their cooperation without the use of violence. Ability to perform investigations, question witnesses and prepare written reports. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
