CK Group are recruiting for a Calibration Technician to join a global materials manufacturing company based near Wigan on a full time permanent basis.

The Company

Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for the architectural automotive and technical sectors. They strive to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Calibration Technician to join their Thin Film Resource Group within the R&D Function and are offering a salary ranging from 24000 - 32000 depending on experience.

Location

The Calibration Technician position will be based at the companys site near Wigan easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool Ormskirk Skelmersdale and Manchester. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the companys location.

Calibration Technician Role
Your main duties will be:
  • Calibrating operating and maintaining lab coating and testing equipment.
  • Investigating new coatings applied through Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD).
  • Conducting durability tests and preparing samples.
  • Measuring various physical properties of coated glass.
  • Developing new coated products and processes.
Your Background

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Educated to BTEC / HNC / apprenticeship level - these are strongly preferred over a degree-level education for this role.
  • Experienced working in a laboratory - essential.
  • Driving licence and access to car - essential.
