THE EMPLOYER IS: SLOAN'S GYM. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Café & Gym Assistant to join our team. The role involves working across both our café and gym facilities, supporting day-to-day operations, preparing simple meals, providing excellent customer service, and helping create a friendly and welcoming environment for all members and visitors. The position offers the opportunity to work in a friendly, community‑focused environment that promotes health, fitness, and good nutrition. Training will be provided for all café and gym systems, including member sign‑ups and food preparation standards. Uniform and staff discounts are included as part of the role. Weekend work is essential, and additional hours may be available.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve hot drinks, smoothies, snacks, and simple breakfast meals.
  • Serve customers and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
  • Use computer systems to sign up new gym members, update customer information, and process payments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of both café and gym areas.
  • Greet members, manage check‑ins, and assist with basic gym queries.
  • Support with stock management and restocking supplies.
  • Follow hygiene, food safety, and health & safety standards.
  • Assist with events, promotions, and community engagement activities.

JobStart Opportunity – Working Hours Information:
Standard Hours: up to 25 hours per week.
Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach.
Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability. This should be discussed directly with the employer before starting employment.

Pay and Hours
