Cafe / Bar Manager

Contract: Full Time
Salary: £27,500 per annum plus tips

As a Café/Bar Manager, you will be passionate about delivering the highest level of service to all guests and club members. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the F&B operations in the resort Café, ensuring a high standard of service and providing a fine dining, relaxing and comfortable experience to all guests. You will support the Supervisors and line Managers in ensuring that there is effective management on the floor, and that the team are fully trained in all aspects of the café, bar and conference venues and that each service runs smoothly.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day responsibility for the department.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards of professional service at all times in the café/lounge areas and overseeing the day-to-day operation, including cleanliness of the café and the lounge as well as the other seating areas within the resort.
  • Responsible for recruiting, managing, inducting, training, performance and development of all café/bar staff to Champneys high standards which includes conducting staff appraisals, probationary reviews, conducting hearings when required in line with Champneys policies. Monitoring absence rates within the department, carrying out return to work interviews and liaising with Restaurant Manager/HR in respect of absence or sickness issues.
  • Responsible for the profitability of the department.
  • Develop professional relationships with guests and members.
  • Responsible for handling of escalated comments from guests and resolving in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure a full shift handover is completed.
  • Ensuring all dietary sheets are provided for guests with specific requirements.
  • Monitor/manage the financial performance of the department (including costs) on a monthly basis and agree corrective actions if appropriate.
