You will be based at our modern, purpose-built Head Office in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff. Cardiff is an accessible city with strong transport links, and London is only 2 hours away by train.

The role

As a Buyer, you will assist in developing, sourcing, and delivering trend-focused, commercially viable ranges that drive profit and enhance the Peacocks brand. You will be part of our close-knit Head Office team, ensuring our ranges align with our brand vision and strategy.

Responsibilities/Objectives:

• Plan and build a balanced, commercially successful range while achieving margin targets;
• Conduct regular product reviews, coordinating trends, looks, and color palettes across departments;
• Manage an effective product sign-off process aligned with critical path and planning cycles;
• Take ownership of critical deadlines, raising issues and implementing action plans as needed;
• Analyze sales data to identify top-performing products, making data-driven decisions for future lines and improvements;
• Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain optimal products, prices, and contract terms, leveraging supplier expertise;
• Lead meetings with Directors and Heads of Departments, ensuring effective communication and timely completion of actions;
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the successful launch of new product lines and seasonal collections;
• Work with the merchandising team to monitor trade, stock turn, margins, and profit levels.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a Fashion Retail Buying role with a strong commercial mindset;
• Deep understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and the buying process, with a keen eye for print and pattern;
• A passion for trends and the ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent negotiation skills and relationship-building abilities with suppliers;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to maintain effective internal and external relationships;
• Proven success in developing and trading highly commercial fashion ranges that exceed sales and profit targets.
