We are looking for a new Buyer employee to be based in Kendal.

Summary

This Buyer (Direct) role will be coordinating activities involved with procuring direct materials components and equipment.

What a typical day looks like
  • Placing orders for necessary raw materials and purchased parts according to the requirements of the production and managing purchase orders.
  • Regular weekly check of the stocks avoiding overstock and minimizing the risk of obsolescence with the help of the weekly check of the obsolete report.
  • Correspondence with the freight forwarders warehouses and in case organizing the transportation.
  • Dealing with claims settling debit and credit issues.
  • Investigation inventory levels and checking the inventory of critical materials (personally if needed) according to the Shortage List
  • Getting in touch with the right warehouse personnel and having the discrepancy modified if there is any inventory discrepancies.
  • Assuring all active components according to production needs in time for the accord price in the request.
  • Confers with vendors to obtain product information such as price availability and delivery schedule.
  • Manages supplier to price delivery and quality expectations and escalates when appropriate..
  • Conducts quarterly supplier reviews.

  • At least 1 year of procurement experience.
  • Good MS Office (Word Excel and Power Point) skills
  • Knowledge of an ERP software
  • CIPS qualification is preferred
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
