We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, and motivated individual with a passion for supporting those with mental illness and learning disabilities to join our pharmacy team within LYPFT. The successful applicant will have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills who can work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Applications are encouraged from any area in pharmacy, as there will be opportunities for the development of clinical skills as well as the opportunity to undertake further training.

We also provide specialist inpatient services in York and some highly specialised services across the country. Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Work alongside and support the Mental Health (MH) pharmacists as part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) working within Primary Care and Community mental health services.
  • Completion of medicines reconciliation.
  • Ensuring timely supply of medicines.
  • Delivering a patient focused medicines optimisation service to clinical areas.
  • Support the timely and smooth transfer of patient care at the point of discharge.
  • Participate in the training and supervision of new staff, trainees, and wider healthcare team.
  • Work closely with our clinical teams and pharmacists in providing a high-quality medicines optimisation service to clinical areas within LYPFT.
Qualifications
  • BTEC diploma in pharmaceutical science & NVQ level 3 diploma in pharmacy skills (or equivalent qualification).
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of medicines management roles: medicines reconciliation, chart checking, P.O.D., self administration.
  • Support service users in the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Work based experience of working in a pharmacy environment.
