Job summary

A highly regarded Further Education College in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Business Studies Lecturer to join their dedicated educational team. In this temporary role starting January 2026, you will deliver exceptional BTEC Level 1, 2 and 3 Business teaching, design engaging learning activities, and support students in securing meaningful industry placements. Candidates should have a degree in Business or similar, a UK teaching qualification, and proven experience in teaching BTEC Business Studies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience teaching BTEC Business Studies at Level 2 and Level 3.
  • Right to Work & Enhanced Child DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across BTEC Level 1, 2 and 3 Business qualifications.

The Role

You will deliver exceptional BTEC Level1, 2 and 3 Business teaching, you will play a key role in reinvigorating the student experience by designing engaging learning activities and helping learners secure meaningful industry placements.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons across BTEC Level 1, 2 and Level 3 Business qualifications.
  • Design and assess coursework and assignments, providing meaningful feedback to help students progress.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment that nurtures student confidence, engagement, and success.
  • Monitor academic progress, deliver tutorial and pastoral support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum design, resources, and student learning experiences.
Education, skills and experience
  • A degree in Business or a related subject.
  • UK-recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS), or willingness to work towards one.
  • Right to Work & Enhanced Child DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.
  • Proven experience teaching BTEC Business Studies at Level 2 and Level 3.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
  • Committed to supporting student development and achieving academic excellence.
