Valley College is a specialist post 16 institution offering courses designed to meet the needs of its learners. We are looking to recruit a College Business Lead who will play a central role in ensuring the college runs smoothly. This role is about balancing day‑to‑day operations, managing people, and contributing to the college’s long‑term goals.
You will help shape policies and initiatives to improve how the college operates, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the Central Trust Team. Preparing reports and analysing data will be a key part of keeping everything on track along with ensuring all records are accurate, up to date and available for audit.
You will oversee all administrative systems and processes, including managing facilities and working with support teams such as admin, IT, catering and site staff. You will also play a vital role providing administration support and guidance for the Governing Committee throughout the process.
You will collaborate with the site team to ensure health and safety processes meet the required standards and that the college is fully compliant in all areas. You will act as the health and safety co‑ordinator ensuring systems are in place for effective monitoring and reporting. HR matters, including absence management, payroll and recruitment, will also fall under your responsibilities as will managing the contracts of all staff.
A good understanding of budget management is desirable and ideally you will have an understanding of the complexities of funding for further education (FE) colleges. You will work closely with the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to manage resources effectively and will be up to date on the latest sector updates from the ESFA. Additionally, you’ll help promote and market the college, support fundraising efforts, and drive income generation activities.
