Business Development Specialist – Finance

Location: London
Salary: Market Rate
Salary band: Dependant upon experience
Contract type: Permanent
Date posted: 26th November 2025

We are partnering with a leading law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development Specialist, focussing on Finance, Business, Restructuring and Real Estate, to join their London office. As a key contributor to the Finance, Business Restructuring, and Real Estate practices, the Business Development Specialist (BD Specialist) leads infrastructure-related business development initiatives across London and Europe. Reporting to the Senior BD Manager, the Specialist works closely with partners, lawyers, and BD teams locally and globally to deliver on strategic objectives and enhance the firm’s visibility in the market.

The Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development, coordination, and implementation of business and client development plans for the Finance, Business Restructuring, Real Estate, and infrastructure-focused practices, including budget tracking and internal reporting.
  • Prepare pitches, proposals, capability statements, and tailored client-specific content through research and close collaboration with London and US BD/PRAD teams.
  • Support internal BD activities such as meeting agendas, note-taking, action follow-up, and the planning and execution of client presentations, workshops, and roundtables.
  • Monitor market, practice, and industry trends to enhance client engagement and share insights that support cross-office BD collaboration.
  • Assist with client relationship initiatives by developing and implementing action plans and maintaining accurate records of client and BD activity.
  • Deliver client, market, and competitor research in partnership with the Library research team, tailoring insights for partner and client use.
  • Maintain and update go-to-market materials—including slide decks, bios, brochures, capability statements, matter records, and intranet content—and support profile-raising initiatives such as thought leadership and directory submissions.
  • Support the planning, execution, and logistics of client and industry events, conferences, sponsorships, and broader global/EU/London business development projects.

The Candidate:

  • Strong academic background with at least three years’ business/client development experience in professional services; relevant BD/marketing qualifications and sector knowledge (Finance, Restructuring, Real Estate, UK/EU financial markets) are advantageous.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable team player who can work independently and is committed to delivering high-quality client service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, tailored client-facing materials for diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and strong organisational/project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and proficiency in key software tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, InterAction).
