Business Development Manager – Defence Engineering Services

Location: Office 1 day per week, customer sites and home/remote

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for winning new business across time and materials ‘staffing’, service centre and work packages in the defence business sector.

You will build a strategy for developing and winning new business where you’re responsible for the P&L, both revenue and margin. This requires clear understanding of the full sales cycle:

  • Understand the market and customer needs, building and executing a strategy.
  • Use direct sales, marketing and thought leadership to build curiosity and drive lead generation.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within client organisations. Understand client needs, business challenges.
  • Generate a compelling sales pitch and value proposition tailored to customer needs.
  • Work all levels of the account from engineering manager to director.
  • Write proposals and responses to RFQs that support your excellent customer knowledge and confirm Segula are the supplier of choice.
  • In doing so you win business to exceed your targets both in revenue and margin.
  • You will manage the sales cycle including CRM management and status reporting.
  • You will maintain excellent customer relations following up on projects to ensure high satisfaction and ensuring repeat business.
Qualifications

This is an opportunity to grow an existing commercial career or take a step from a technical or recruitment role into the commercial side of the industry. You may have:

  • Recruitment experience with a well known customer network.
  • A number of years of engineering experience and be looking for a new challenge.
  • Have an existing career in business development with an existing network of customers.
