Job summary

A leading consultancy in project delivery is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive lead generation and manage sales cycles in the solar industry. The role requires proven expertise in technical sales processes, excellent communication abilities, and a self-motivated approach to exceed targets. Responsibilities
  • Conduct research across the Solar and VO marketplace to identify prospects.
  • Drive self‑led lead generation through networking, referrals, social media outreach, LinkedIn/Sales Navigator and other channels.
  • Set up and deliver fact‑find discovery meetings (onsite or via Zoom).
  • Manage full sales cycles from initial engagement through presentation and close.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all activity in HubSpot CRM.
  • Stay informed on solar, VO and wider industry developments.
  • Maintain strong activity and conversion levels to exceed sales targets.
  • Attend weekly team sales meetings and 1:1 calls with the Sales Manager.
  • Build and nurture long‑term customer and partner relationships.
  • Monitor competitor activity and share insights with the team.
  • Engage with trade fairs, exhibitions, workshops, and training events as required.
  • Contribute positively to team culture and support colleagues.
  • Carry out additional duties as requested by Team Leaders or the Managing Director.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Business Development Manager

  • Proficiency with HubSpot CRM (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Solar, VO, and PPA solutions (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
