Overview

A boutique commercial and industrial (C&I) renewable energy company is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Manager to expand its customer base through the sale of battery storage and renewable energy solutions. The successful candidate will bring a proven sales background, strong relationship-building skills, and a passion for advancing clean energy. This role offers a competitive base salary, commission structure, and performance-based bonuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with commercial and industrial customers.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified sales leads.
  • Conduct site visits, assessments, and preliminary evaluations to analyze customer energy needs.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored proposals showcasing cost savings, available tax incentives, and sustainability benefits.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and project management teams to design optimal energy solutions.
  • Lead contract negotiations, secure agreements, and ensure a seamless handoff to project operations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and utility incentive programs (including HECO programs and federal tax credits).
  • Represent the business at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in renewable energy, battery storage, solar, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated success in consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of energy markets, commercial utility rates, and demand-side management practices.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Previous experience with the Hawaii energy market strongly preferred.
