A leading engineering and industrial services provider is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across Southern England. This is a senior, strategic role focused on expanding multi‑discipline maintenance, engineering and project services across key industrial sectors including Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Power, Process and Pharmaceutical.

We're looking for someone who can win work with Tier 1 contractors, build long‑term client partnerships, and convert complex opportunities into profitable, sustainable revenue streams.

If you thrive in a fast‑paced, commercially driven environment and know how to open doors at senior level, this role offers the autonomy and influence to make a real impact.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver innovative business development strategies aligned with regional and sector growth plans.
  • Identify, qualify and secure new business across chosen industrial markets.
  • Track and manage opportunities through the company CRM, ensuring accurate reporting and pipeline visibility.
  • Maximise opportunities within existing accounts while opening profitable new markets.
  • Support operational and commercial teams to ensure targets are met and customer value is maximised.
  • Build strong relationships with Tier 1 contractors, industry partners and key decision‑makers.
  • Develop new networking channels to generate high‑quality leads and strategic opportunities.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies.
  • Lead negotiations with new and prospective clients, securing commercially robust agreements.
  • Ensure new contracts are deliverable, aligned with internal governance, and set up for long‑term success.
  • Support bid and proposals teams with win themes, differentiators and key content.
  • Maintain and grow long‑term partnerships, ensuring exceptional service and proactive engagement.
  • Represent the client internally, ensuring delivery teams understand expectations and service levels.
  • Champion a strong sales and customer‑centric culture across the business.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to develop and grow key accounts.
  • Support the creation of regional BD plans and sector‑specific growth strategies.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience winning business for or with Tier 1 contractors in industrial, engineering or major project environments.
  • Strong background in Business Development or Sales within Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Power, Process or Pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Success selling multi‑discipline maintenance, engineering services, projects frameworks, construction or turnarounds.
  • A strong network across Southern England's industrial and engineering markets.
  • Ability to manage complex opportunities, negotiate at senior level, and sell on value.
  • Excellent communication skills — written proposals, presentations, and client engagement.
  • Highly self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the South.
What You Can Expect

A role with genuine influence, clear commercial accountability, and the scope to shape growth across a key region. You'll work with experienced operational teams, established clients, and a business committed to expanding its footprint across major industrial sectors.

If you're driven, commercially sharp, and ready to lead strategic growth, we'd like to hear from you
