Business Development Director – Global Tech Events

Senior Leadership | £15m Revenue Ownership | Uncapped Bonus

Our client is a rapidly scaling, international tech events business at a defining moment of growth. They are hiring two Business Development Directors - one focused on Europe & Asia, the other on the Americas - to help drive the next phase of global expansion.

These are senior, business-critical roles, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, with full ownership of a £15m revenue portfolio each. You’ll work across market-leading event brands, with the autonomy and influence to shape commercial strategy at scale.

The role

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking proven commercial leaders who are :

  • Structured, analytical, and KPI-obsessed
  • Comfortable operating at pace in fast-moving, high-expectation environments
  • Expert users of Salesforce - not just for reporting, but as a core performance-driving tool
  • Experienced in building, scaling, and motivating high-performing sales teams

You will need to :

  • Lead a team of 7–8 (Business Development, Account, and Sponsorship Managers)
  • Have recent experience of large scale content-led events
  • Own and grow your own book of business, while taking over key strategic accounts
  • Drive new business and pipeline growth with real-time insights
  • Sell a blend of event sponsorship and digital media solutions (interviews, white papers, amplification packages)
  • Set and manage targets / KPIs with analytical precision
  • Be an expert in Salesforce and coach your team to become Salesforce power users

The Ideal Profile

  • A hands-on commercial leader who leads from the front
  • Highly analytical, structured, and confident managing complex sales operations
  • Energised by growth, new markets, and scaling revenue streams
  • Passionate about pushing into new sectors and segments
