Job description

Title: Business Development Director (BDD)

Reports to: Head of Sales EMEA, Funds and Capital Markets

Hours: Monday-Friday

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands

To work with colleagues across Funds and Capital Markets (“FCM”) to grow new revenue across FCM’s jurisdictions. The BDD will have a deep understanding of the Funds and/or Capital Markets and be able to sell FCM’s full product suite. The BDD will have the freedom to work on a variety of different opportunities to support the continued organic growth of the business and to satisfy changing client needs and regulatory requirements. The BDD is expected to be an independent self-starter but will also be part of a supportive and collegiate environment.

FCM’s product suite amongst others includes Fund administration services, shadow accounting, outsourcing services for mid office, loan admin, reconciliation and treasury management, regulatory and governance services, technology and consulting services as well as corporate services for securitisations and other orphan SPVs, project finance, escrow, corporate trust and agency services for securitisations and other bond issuances, loan agency, loan successor trustee and successor agency for distressed transactions/restructurings and custody for alternative asset classes such as carbon credits.

Key responsibilities
  • Proactively growing new business revenue, through direct origination of opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining a strong network of external business referrers
  • Creating sales and calling plans and coordinating with direct peers and colleagues in the wider business to manage the execution of these plans.
  • Primary focus the Netherlands and Belgium
  • Liaise with internal and external teams to facilitate processes such as business compliance onboarding, transaction management, client teams and finance,
  • Assisting in other jurisdictions
  • Preparing quotations, presentations and other business development‑related material as required to support new business opportunities.
  • Representing the business at external meetings, relevant industry forums, conferences, and seminars as required
  • Undertaking deal‑by‑deal risk assessment of new business opportunities
  • Contributing to the development of FCM’s commercial strategy to accelerate the growth of revenue across the business,
  • Helping to develop the more nascent parts of the product suite, including loan agency, loan administration, project finance and restructuring services
  • Monitoring and interpreting market trends, to help determine the strategic direction of FCM.
  • Developing and fostering key relationships within both FCM and the wider CSC group
  • Focus on increasing responsiveness (reacting to emails/calls/ continuous proactive follow up),
  • Organize & manage Business Partners/clients operational & strategic business update meetings to improve efficiency and clients contact rhythm,
  • Available for all day‑to‑day operational issues,
  • Working closely with FCM’s transaction management teams to facilitate deal closing and undertake post‑deal relationship management.
