We are seeking an exceptional Business Analyst with experience in Data Governance to join our First Derivative Data team.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement robust data governance frameworks, policies, and solutions that enable high-quality, well-managed data across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and standards
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering teams to ensure data lineage is captured for all CDE
  • Manage data quality controls, reporting, and exception handling to maintain accuracy and consistency
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal data management requirements
  • Define and maintain data ownership and stewardship models (RACI), engaging with stakeholders to assign roles and responsibilities
  • Partner with data stewards and SMEs to create and maintain a data dictionary and metadata repository
  • Contribute to the creation of KPIs and KRIs for the data governance program
  • Drive the iterative deployment of data operating models and policies, leveraging priority use cases to secure business adoption
  • Maintain governance documentation, including data dictionaries, business glossaries, and test scenarios
Requirements
  • Experience in the financial industry, particularly in investment banking, understanding the nuances of financial data and regulatory requirements
  • Hands-on experience with regulatory reporting data, particularly MiFID and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Alation, Collibra, Informatica, or similar
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks such as DAMA or DCAM
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and identify solutions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proactive and organized, with strong time management and prioritization skills to manage tasks effectively
