As a Business Analyst, you will be involved in supporting front office traders, risk managers, and other business users with their tools and applications. Alongside support, you will drive tactical and strategic improvements across the front and middle office trade lifecycle.

You will join the London Front Office Support team in a hybrid capacity, working alongside another BA within the D&A Delivery Vertical for Trading-IT.

What you’ll do

As the Business Analyst for Trading, you will provide technical support regarding a range of IT systems and applications, resolve technical issues, and support users. Your responsibilities include:

  • Working with large datasets, developing analytical models, and creating reports or dashboards using SQL, Excel, PowerBI, or Tableau.
  • Identifying process improvement and efficiency opportunities within front office operations, proposing and implementing solutions to enhance productivity, reduce operational risks, or optimize trading strategies.
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders and Delivery Vertical leads to ensure work is prioritized according to stakeholder agreements across functions.

What you’ll bring to the role

You should have strong knowledge of the European Gas and Power Markets, and familiarity with Gas Storage and/or LNG Deal Lifecycle. Additionally, you will have:

  • Ability to make timely decisions to ensure efficient change mobilization.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, charting, pivoting, and data imports (SQL, CSV).
  • Strong SQL skills, including understanding relational databases, joins, where conditions, and aggregate functions.
  • Proficiency in eliciting and articulating requirements from business and development teams.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and negotiate effectively in high-pressure environments.
  • A degree (or equivalent) in a numerate or computing-related subject.
