Building Surveyor — Location: Buxton, Midlands

A large public sector organisation is looking for a Building Surveyor to join their team based in Buxton. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of stock condition surveys across social housing in the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out comprehensive stock condition surveys on social housing properties across the Midlands
  • Inspect buildings and prepare detailed reports with accurate assessments
  • Identify defects, maintenance needs, and advise on required repairs or improvements
  • Liaise with contractors, residents, and internal teams to gather information and resolve issues
  • Support planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes through accurate data collection
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety, building regulations, and legislative requirements
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in property condition surveys, ideally within social housing or public sector
  • Strong knowledge of building construction, defects, and repair methods
  • Ability to write clear, concise reports and communicate effectively with different stakeholders
  • Organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the Midlands
