Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor on a permanent basis in Hampshire, UK, to oversee planned maintenance projects related to external walls and building fabric. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, ideally in the social housing sector, and will manage contractors while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. This field-based role offers a salary of up to £43,050 per annum pro rata, along with mileage reimbursement for travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC in Construction or equivalent technical qualification.
• Strong understanding of building fabric and technical construction issues.
• Proven experience in planned maintenance programmes.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety in construction environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and oversee planned maintenance projects focused on external walls.
• Inspect and develop solutions for building defects.
• Write technical specifications for remedial and planned works.
• Manage contracts, including KPI monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
