Job summary

Building Surveyor - Damp & Mould

Hyperion Partners is proud to be working in partnership with a respected Housing Association located near London Bridge, recruiting for an experienced Building Surveyor with a strong focus on Damp & Mould investigations and remediation.

This is a key technical role supporting resident safety, regulatory compliance, and service improvement within occupied social housing.

The Role

As Building Surveyor, you will take ownership of Damp & Mould cases across a varied housing stock, providing clear diagnosis, technical solutions, and assurance that works are delivered effectively and in line with current legislation and best practice.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Carrying out Damp & Mould inspections across occupied homes
  • Diagnosing root causes (condensation, penetrating damp, rising damp, thermal bridging)
  • Producing clear survey reports, schedules of works, and specifications
  • Applying HHSRS, Awaab's Law principles, and internal Damp & Mould policies
  • Instructing and managing contractors through remedial works
  • Undertaking pre- and post-inspections to ensure quality and compliance
  • Supporting complaint, escalation, and Ombudsman cases with robust technical evidence
  • Working collaboratively with repairs, housing management, and compliance teams
  • Maintaining accurate records on housing management systems
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Surveyor within a Housing Association or Local Authority
  • Demonstrable experience managing Damp & Mould cases within social housing
  • Strong understanding of HHSRS, housing legislation, and building pathology
  • Experience producing professional survey reports and schedules of works
  • Confidence engaging with residents, including vulnerable households
  • Proven ability to manage contractors and oversee remedial works
  • Strong organisational and communication skills

Qualifications in Building Surveying or Construction are desirable, but relevant sector experience is essential.
