Job summary

A public sector client in Southampton is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor for a minimum 12-month contract, with options for extensions. Building Surveyor

Southampton

12-month contract MINIMUM + extensions

23.70/hr PAYE OR 29.96/hr Umbrella

A Building Surveyor is required to join a public sector client on a 3-month minimum contract in Southampton. As a Building Surveyor, you will be working closely with surveyors, contractors and internal teams of building responsive repairs team, managing a portfolio of minor works projects to address damp, mould and condensation issues in properties. You will be predominantly site based or working in the office between appointments. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting DRI surveys
  • CDM Compliance
  • H&S Management
  • Project programming
  • Project Finance & Delivery
  • Scheduling resources as required

The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum HNC-level in Building Surveying, or have significant equivalent experience in the industry, along with great knowledge of Building Pathology, specialising in Damp and Mould and knowledge of legislation such as Building Regulations, Control of Asbestos, H&S, Disrepairs, etc. You must also be able to write and prepare concise and accurate reports and contracts, manage budgets, and prepare and deliver programmes of works. You will also be fit and healthy enough to gain access to awkward places, climb ladders and scaffolding, and have your own vehicle and driving license.
