Overview

Vox Consultants are recruiting for an Electrician on-site as a General Building Engineer at HMP Gartree. The standard hours are 39 hours per week across 7 days (weekend shifts on a rota basis with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).

What you will do
  • Ensure availability of critical parts for statutory tasks and manage remedial tasks in the CAFM system.
  • Perform general and semi-skilled maintenance activities, including security systems such as CCTV and alarms.
  • Conduct monthly checks and tests of fire extinguisher equipment, fire hydrants, and hoses.
  • Complete quarterly RCD testing and inspect misting units.
  • Maintain fire doors and perform flushing and tap temperature tests as per water risk assessments.
  • Undertake monthly and annual emergency lighting checks.
  • Check and test smoke vents as required.
  • Carry out any other duties as required.
What you will bring
  • Experience in multiple areas of maintenance such as fire, door maintenance, extinguisher maintenance and alarm core points.
  • Emergency lighting knowledge.
  • RCD testing experience.

  • Prison security clearance will be required.
