Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
Essential Responsibilities and Activities Include but are Not Limited to:
  • Installing, configuring and maintaining the client’s Building Management Systems, Building Automation Systems and Operational Technologies (OT).

  • Provides support and technical training on hardware and software to end users.

  • System support to the Control Engineers and Integrators in the field.

  • Project management of Integrator/LSP resources in the field coordinating testing and commissioning of projects. System support to the Integrators/LSPs in the field.

  • Troubleshooting the client’s building technologies (OT, IoT, BMS, BAS, Lighting, Power Monitoring, etc.).

  • Understanding key concepts in Energy Efficiency and proposes ideas

  • Some limited PC/MAC support Windows software and hardware for end users via phone, email and instant messaging will be required occasionally.

  • Enforce/follow documented installation standards and New Builds processes such as DHCP reservations, MAC allow listing, Load Sheets and other New builds documentation as well as any other security hardening techniques.

  • Comply with and contribute to a global team of other BMS Application Specialists for a common goal.

  • Assists in basic network troubleshooting as it relates to BMS technologies.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows.

  • Clear understanding of Network fundamentals such as Name Resolution, DHCP, TCP/IP, subnetting, IPv6, firewalls.

  • Familiar with building systems, HVAC, Lighting, Power, etc.

  • Hands-on troubleshooting building technologies hardware, network cabling, etc.

  • Understands the standards and practices that go into an Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) or Equipment room.

  • Building technologies hardware: Controllers; Sensors, etc.

  • Building technologies protocols: BACnet, ModBus, FOXnet, etc.

  • Familiar with scripting languages, batch files, PowerShell, etc. to perform basic functions within the scope of the Building Technology systems.

  • Basic understanding of Virtual Machines and remote access concepts.

  • Basic understanding of Databases and concepts around database queries.

  • Basic understanding of integrations between systems, ability to demonstrate basic concepts.

Qualifications
Key Requirements:
  • Education:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ Years of progressive experience or

  • BS degree and 0+ Years of progressive experience or

  • Foundation Degree/HND/Associates degree plus 4+ years of experience

  • Requires some system administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, implementing new workstations, and system extensions.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.

  • Basic knowledge of large-scale networking, VLANS and routing.

  • Requires reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer.

  • Requires the ability to work flexible shifts that include nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

  • Requires minimum of IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).

  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.

  • Able to use MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.

  • Must have a general awareness of Building Management and Security applications in one or more of the following: Access Control, Video/CCTV, HVAC or Energy Efficiency.

Work Schedule:
  • Required time in the office 3 days/week. 2 days WFH remote available.

  • Subject to change given demands of the client.

  • Some offset work hours to support teams outside of region.

  • Some international travel requirements (<10%).
