British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistant | Hearing Impaired Unit | Havering | From £89/day | Full-time | Long-term | September StartAxcis is supporting a fantastic mainstream primary school in Havering with a specialist Hearing Impaired Unit on-site. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant with a minimum of Level 2 in British Sign Language to join their dedicated team in September. Pupils in the unit are aged 5–11 and may have additional needs such as autism or learning difficulties.The school is highly inclusive and works closely with local speech and language and audiology services. Staff are friendly, collaborative, and passionate about communication in all forms. With free on-site parking and excellent access to rail and bus links, this is a rewarding role in a well-connected borough. In this role, you will be:•Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils who are deaf or hearing impaired.• Using BSL to aid understanding across the curriculum and build social confidence.• Working closely with class teachers and communication support staff to deliver adapted lessons.• Supporting pupils with additional needs such as autism, speech and language delay or sensory processing needs.• Helping pupils to access both academic and social opportunities within the mainstream school.
