We are a leading provider of specialist building materials, committed to delivering exceptional service and quality to our customers. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Depot Manager - Branch Manager to join our team and oversee the efficient operation of our Leicestershire based depot.

Overview

The Depot Manager - Branch Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of our depot operations, including inventory management, scheduling, team supervision, quality management and ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a background in building materials (or similar), excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day of the depot, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Manage inventory levels, including procurement, storage and distribution of materials and equipment.
  • Develop and implement depot operating procedures to optimise efficiency and productivity.
  • Supervise teams, providing leadership, training, and performance and absence management as needed.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, equipment, and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the depot facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
  • Prepare reports and provide updates to senior management on depot operations and performance.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in warehouse or depot management, preferably in the construction or building materials (or similar)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage a team and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
