Branch Assistant - Northampton (NN3) - £25,397/yr

We're looking for a friendly, organised Branch Assistant to join our busy Northampton branch. You'll be part of a well‑established, supportive team, helping deliver great service to customers — both trade and retail — across our refrigeration & spares wholesale business.

Location: Northampton, NN3

Salary: £25,397 per year (plus holiday pay & benefits)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Serve customers at the trade counter — in person, by phone, and by email.
  • Advise customers on products from our full portfolio so you can match the right part to their needs.
  • Handle picking, packing and preparing orders for customer collection or for delivery loading.
  • Maintain stock levels: monitor, receive deliveries, store and organise inventory — plus assist with regular stock‑takes.
  • Deal with returns or warranty parts quickly and according to policy.
  • Keep the branch clean, tidy and organised — trade‑counter area, warehouse stock, and customer zones.
  • Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues to ensure orders, quotations, and customer queries are handled promptly and accurately.
What We’re Looking For
  • Good standard of education (GCSE level or equivalent), especially Maths and English.
  • Strong customer‑service skills and a “customer‑first” attitude — you'll be dealing with trade‑clients, contractors, and retail customers.
  • Ability to multitask: handling phones, stock picking/packing, counter service, emails — sometimes under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player; able to work on your own initiative when required.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, retail counter, parts‑sales or similar role is advantageous, but not essential.
