A London accountancy practice is seeking a Bookkeeping Assistant to manage bookkeeping tasks using Xero, prepare VAT returns, and draft management accounts. We are currently working with a growing London accountancy practice with offices in Soho who are now looking to expand their team with a Bookkeeping Assistant.

The firm
  • Act for some of the biggest worldwide names in the film, television and fashion industries
  • Provide excellent client service and total command of their clients' complex affairs
  • Their premium clients engage them for a complete suite of services, which can range from managing their day-to-day finances to advising on their international business structures with cross-border tax issues

The role
  • Prepare bookkeeping as required on Xero and other platforms
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Drafting management accounts for review
  • Investigate and resolve queries from clients & colleagues
  • Working with the Client Managers in the team to understand client requirements and identify areas where more detailed advice may be required
  • Contacting suppliers to verify bank details and processing payments, initially onto our internal system and eventually onto our client's online banking platform
The candidate
  • AAT level 3 qualified or above
  • Competent using MS Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Competent using Xero
  • Experience of Iris would be beneficial
  • Self-motivated and able to apply relevant skills to new scenarios
  • Good people and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with accuracy and focus
  • Demonstrates excellent analytical and research skills
