Job description
Overview

Our client, a well-established company, is recruiting an organised, proactive and flexible Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent basis. This role can be full or part time and hybrid working. Reporting to the Financial Director.

Responsibilities
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  • Perform month-end reconciliations.
  • Monitor financial transactions and reports.
  • Process accounts receivable and payable.
  • Process checks.
  • Prepare VAT returns.
  • Monitor and manage the sales and purchase ledgers.
  • Support the Financial Director with cash flow forecasting, departmental budgeting, and cost centre analysis to drive efficiencies and improve workflows across the business.
  • Assist with monthly payroll using accounting software.
  • Communicate with HMRC, banks and external auditors when required.
  • Forge excellent and effective working relationships with all departments and colleagues.
Qualifications
  • Experience within a similar accounts role.
  • Good numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication (verbal and written).
  • Good working knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software, such as Xero, SAGE or QuickBooks.
  • An accounting qualification could be beneficial.
