Role

As a Booking and Scheduling Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of patient care pathways, ensuring appointments are managed efficiently, communications are clear, and schedules run smoothly. You’ll work closely with clinical teams, admin staff, and patients to keep everything on track, helping us reduce waiting times and improve the patient experience.

The post holder will be responsible for
  • Accurately add patients to waiting lists, ensuring they are placed on the correct pathways, validating and amending details as required.
  • Coordinate pre-admission tests and checks, ensuring all patients are fully prepared for their procedure or appointment.
  • Record patient cancellations and DNAs (Did Not Attends) accurately and promptly.
  • Liaise effectively with consultants regarding case-mix, additions to theatre lists, and schedule changes.
  • Ensure theatre lists are constructed to maximise utilisation, balancing clinical priorities and patient needs.
  • Support the team in maintaining compliance with Trust access policies and national access standards.
