A local government organization is seeking a dedicated individual for a Digital Technical Support apprenticeship. This role, primarily based at the Bloxwich Launchpad, offers varied technical learning opportunities and involves providing support to local businesses and community projects. The ideal candidate should have GCSE English and Maths grade 4 or above and demonstrate good communication skills, with a strong interest in IT support. Candidates must also complete a BPSS check to ensure compliance with security standards.
The Bloxwich Launchpad is the Town Deal's flagship project, situated at the heart of the town centre, just off the High Street. This £3million investment is a clear statement of intent by Walsall Council, government and key stakeholders to local people and businesses. To deliver effective and first-class specialist services, support and training to local people looking to develop their skills or start to grow their business. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who has an interest in developing a career in Digital Technical Support. This apprenticeship role will be varied not only in the technical learning covered but also in relation to the sites you will be working at, mainly Bloxwich Launchpad but with requirement to work from the Guild Hall and Walsall Council House, with possible exposure to other locations. The role will also involve working with delivery partners, incubates, local community and businesses to provide technical support within the centre as and where required.
You should have GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above with good written and verbal communication skills and a strong interest in IT Technical Support. The successful applicant should possess the ability to adapt to a challenging and often changing environment, This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English. For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities.
