Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a BiW Engineer in Crewe. This role involves leading the design and launch of Body-in-White panels and ensuring project alignment. Candidates should have proven experience in automotive engineering, especially in developing BiW parts and systems. This position offers a flexible hybrid working model and works within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience developing BiW parts and systems within an OEM or Tier 1 supply base.
  • Proficient in CATIA CAD DMU for detailed interrogation and assessment of newly designed assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and launch of Body-in-White (BiW) panels and subsystems.
  • Run cross-functional Design Reviews to guarantee effective communication across teams.
  • Take design responsibility for assigned BiW subsystems, specifically Tailgate and Bonnet.
  • Direct CAD Design Development Partners to deliver BiW subsystems on time.
  • Steer and manage release activities (P-Release, B-Release).
  • Operate within a defined project plan for timely data drops.
  • Support vehicle launch through proactive problem-solving activities.

Job Title: BiW Engineer

Location: Crewe, Flexible Hybrid Working

Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate, PAYE or LTD options available

Contract Details: Contract running to January 31st with scope for extension

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and launch of Body-in-White (BiW) panels and subsystems, ensuring alignment with project scope, cost, weight, time, and sustainability targets.
  • Run cross-functional Design Reviews to guarantee effective communication across teams and achievement of project goals.
  • Take design responsibility for assigned BiW subsystems, specifically Tailgate and Bonnet.
  • Collaborate with and direct CAD Design Development Partners to deliver BiW subsystems on time.
  • Steer and manage release activities (P-Release, B-Release) to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Operate within a defined project plan to achieve timely data drops of BiW systems into manufacturing partners.
  • Support vehicle launch through proactive problem-solving activities, including hands-on physical trials.
