Job summary

A healthcare service provider in Birmingham is seeking a Care Assistant to assist with daily routines, personal care, and patient support in a Care Home. Candidates should be friendly, caring, and preferably have experience or qualifications in care, although this is not required. Job Role :

This particular role is based within a Care Home in Birmingham.

The Care Assistant will be expected to help and assist with day to day routines including personal care and feeding.

Care Assistants help with the day-to-day care of patients, either in homes, supported living community houses or in patient’s own homes.

Care Assistants are a vital member of any team within care homes and people homes and community homes.

Employers will be keen to see that you have a friendly and caring attitude, and understand and respect people who need healthcare support.

Previous experience and / or qualifications in care are preferred to apply for this role but are not essential.

As a Care Assistant / Support Worker / HCA or Healthcare Assistant, you would work under the supervision of Senior Care Assistants or Staff Nurses along with lots of other Care Assistants.

Your duties could include :
  • helping patients to wash, shower or dress
  • serving food or helping people eat
  • making and changing beds
  • turning patients who are confined to bed to avoid pressure sores
  • talking to patients to keep them engaged and entertained
  • helping patients to move around if they find it difficult
  • giving out and collecting bedpans, and helping patients to the toilet
  • making sure the patients room / general living areas are kept clean and tidy
  • keeping supplies and equipment in order

Your day-to-day work may include using mobility aids and equipment to help lift and move patients.
