A major healthcare provider in the UK is looking for a Biomedical Scientist to join their Blood Sciences department. The successful candidate will analyze blood samples, maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with quality standards. You will work within a friendly, skilled team and must be HCPC registered. Strong attention to detail and collaboration skills are essential. This position offers ongoing professional development in a modern laboratory setting.
As a Biomedical Scientist you will be trained in all areas of Haematology Automation, Coagulation, Haemoglobinopathy and Blood Transfusion.
The department is housed in a modern, purpose-built laboratory and the successful candidate will be joining a busy but friendly team. Haematology uses the Beckman Coulter DxH900-2S with Cellavision Digital Morphology, Werfen ACL TOPS 750 Coagulation analysers, Benson's Viscometers for Plasma Viscosity, Sebia Capillarys 3 for HbA1c and Haemoglobinopathy Screening. We also provide Antenatal and Newborn Screening services for Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia. The Blood Transfusion laboratory uses the Werfen Neo Iris Blood Grouping analysers.
The Blood Sciences department has a fully tracked Beckman Coulter DxA5000 automated system connecting Haematology, Coagulation, Chemistry and Virology analysers. We have accreditation by UKAS under ISO:15189 and are assessed for compliance by MHRA. We are approved by the IBMS as a training laboratory for both the registration portfolio, leading to HCPC registration and specialist portfolios.
