Duties as Biology Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Biology Teacher to join a thriving science department on a maternity cover contract starting October 2025. You will inspire students to explore the natural world, delivering engaging lessons that promote curiosity and a love of science.

  • Teach Biology across KS3 and KS4 following the national curriculum and exam board specifications.

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons that support students of all abilities.

  • Assess, record and report on pupil progress, providing constructive feedback.

  • Maintain a safe and well-organised laboratory environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the science department, including clubs, trips and enrichment activities.

Ideal Biology Teacher
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Strong subject knowledge in Biology, with the ability to teach related sciences if required.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Biology Teacher.
