Job description

We are working with the UK's leading pump solutions business seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join their expanding Business Development team.

This position is based from the Birmingham depot, with occasional travel to Chandlers Ford as required.

This role is central to delivering high-quality tender submissions across major water, construction and public sector frameworks, combining hands‑on writing with strategic content improvement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work alongside the Tender Manager from RFI through to ITT
  • Review tender documents and coordinate the internal response process
  • Tailor bid collateral and gather additional information from internal experts
  • Work with Operations, SHEQ, Transport, HR and Commercial teams to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations
  • Write, edit and proof high-quality written responsesReview scoring feedback and implement improvements
  • Maintain bid libraries and support process enhancement
  • Use AI tools to support drafting and structural improvements
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy and alignment with client requirements
Skills and Experience Required
  • Strong background in bid writing within public sector or technical environments
  • Knowledge of tender processes and scoring methodologies
  • Experience with procurement platforms
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong research capability
  • Highly organised and deadline driven
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and AI writing tools
  • Collaborative approach and excellent stakeholder communication
  • Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
