Job description
What you'll be doing:

The Bespoke Art Director at Wallpaper*Magazine leads the creative direction of bespoke and branded content projects, delivering visually distinctive, culturally relevant work that aligns with Wallpaper*'s editorial authority and design-led ethos. Reporting to the Bespoke Advertising Director, this role sits at the intersection of the editorial and commercial teams, ensuring every bespoke project meets the magazine's uncompromising creative standards. Multidisciplinary and multi-platform in approach, the role sees the development of innovative work across print, digital, social and events.

Creative Direction & Collaboration

Lead the creative vision for Wallpaper* Bespoke projects across print, digital, social, and experiential platforms. Working closely with the Bespoke Director, copywriters, editorial, commercial, and production teams, you'll develop original, design-led concepts that align partner objectives with Wallpaper*'s distinctive editorial voice. You will confidently present ideas to stakeholders, collaborate with internal Future teams when required, and work with a network of writers, photographers, stylists, and external creatives.

Design Execution & Innovation

Oversee and execute high-quality design and art direction across print and digital features, special editions, and interactive storytelling formats. You'll ensure exceptional attention to detail in typography, layout, imagery, and motion, while pushing creative boundaries through culturally intelligent, innovative design. Staying ahead of trends in design, fashion, architecture, and visual culture, you'll elevate brand partnerships without compromising editorial integrity.

Project Management & Commercial Support

Manage multiple bespoke projects end to end, maintaining creative excellence while meeting deadlines and budgets. You'll oversee final artwork approvals and production workflows, ensuring consistent quality across all outputs. In addition, you'll create compelling design-led marketing collateral—such as media packs, brand decks, issue flyers, and event invitations—to support the commercial team and international representatives.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve:
  • Significant experience as an Art Director within editorial, luxury media, or high-end branded content.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing editorial design, art direction, and bespoke storytelling.
  • Deep understanding of print design and typography, with fluency in digital-first content.
  • Understanding of print press and the systems/processes in place for magazine publishing
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with motion or interactive tools is a plus.
  • Confident communicator with experience presenting to senior stakeholders and clients.

Strong grasp of contemporary culture, design, architecture, and global creative trends.
