Role

Job Title: Bench Joiner | Location: Kingston Upon Thames

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture bespoke joinery items to technical drawings, including retail counters, display units, POS stands, and feature walls.
  • Interpret and work from CAD drawings, cutting lists, and design specifications with precision.
  • Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assemble components with high levels of finish and attention to detail.
  • Work with materials such as MDF, laminates, veneers, and solid timber.
  • Collaborate with the design and project teams to ensure consistency and feasibility of production.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace and adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times.
  • Carry out occasional on-site fitting or assist with installation teams as needed.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Bench Joiner, preferably in shopfitting or retail display sectors.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of woodworking machinery and hand tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Understanding of materials commonly used in commercial joinery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent qualification preferred.
Desirable
  • Experience with solid surface fabrication (e.g., Corian).
  • Familiarity with CNC routing or edge banding machinery.
