Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull
Salary: £89 - £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025 or now
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you patient, resilient, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who need extra support? GSL Education are seeking a confident and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive school setting in Hull.

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils who display challenging behaviours, often linked to social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs. Your role will involve working 1:1 and in small groups to help students engage positively with learning and school life.

Your Responsibilities as a Behaviour Teaching Assistant:

• Provide tailored behavioural support to individual pupils or small groups.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with students and act as a positive role model.
• Implement behaviour intervention strategies as directed by teaching or pastoral staff.
• Support classroom activities and encourage pupil participation.
• Monitor student progress and report concerns to senior staff.
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs.
• A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach.
• Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to build rapport and work effectively as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
