Qualifications

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for a new one).
  • Legal right to work in the UK without restrictions.
  • Specialist training in de-escalation methods is highly advantageous.

If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Worker for roles in the Sheffield area. We are partnered with both mainstream and specialist schools and are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will be instrumental in creating a secure and supportive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Confidently manage challenging situations using de-escalation techniques, providing pupils with the support they need to re-engage with their learning.

  • Providing one-on-one support to pupils who require extra guidance, helping them develop emotional regulation and social skills.

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of behaviour support plans, ensuring pupils are on track to meet their goals.

  • Working closely with the class teacher to ensure a positive and productive atmosphere for all pupils.

  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of incidents and progress, sharing information with the relevant school teams.

Requirements

To succeed in this position, you must possess:

  • Extensive experience with challenging behaviour in a school or youth-based setting.

  • An Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for a new one).

  • The legal right to work in the UK without any restrictions.

  • Specialist training in de-escalation methods, such as Team Teach or MAPA, is highly advantageous.

  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach to working with young people.

  • The ability to build strong, trusting relationships quickly.

  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils' emotional and social development
