Job description

Alternative Provisions supports students who have found mainstream education challenging. They provide a nurturing, personalised learning environment that helps young people re‑engage with education, build confidence, and develop positive behaviour strategies that will serve them for life.

As Behaviour Support you will play a vital role in supporting our students both in and out of the classroom. You will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to promote positive behaviour, manage challenging situations calmly, and help students reach their potential.

Responsibilities
  • Building positive, respectful relationships with students.
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies in lessons and around the school.
  • Delivering targeted interventions to help students develop self‑regulation and social skills.
  • Working collaboratively with staff to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contributing to behaviour plans and supporting restorative practices.
Qualifications
  • Empathetic and resilient, with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
  • Calm under pressure, with excellent communication and de‑escalation skills.
  • Flexible and proactive, able to work as part of a dedicated team.
  • Experienced in working with young people with behavioural, emotional, or social needs (desirable but not essential).
