BD & Marketing Assistant

Wedlake Bell is recruiting a BD & Marketing Assistant to join our BD & Marketing Team. This is a full-time, permanent role requiring four days office attendance per week.

Our BD & Marketing team comprises 10 professionals and plays a crucial role in shaping the firm and our future. Our role is to build the firm's reputation among all stakeholders, help develop deeper and broader relationships with our clients and drive future revenue growth. The team consists of:

  • BD & Marketing Director;
    • Three Senior BD & Marketing Managers embedded with our practice groups (Private Client, Real Estate, Disputes and Business Services)
    • Two BD & Marketing Executives
  • Head of Marketing;
    • Database Manager
    • Senior Brand & Marketing Executive
    • Events Executive

As a BD & Marketing Assistant, you will provide key support to our BD & Marketing teams in the creation and delivery of activities across all areas of the business. We are seeking someone with a keen interest in BD & Marketing in professional services, a creative thinker, and an eye for digital marketing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to all team members across the BD & Marketing team, including but not limited to:

    • Updating the firm website;
    • Organising / tracking photo shoots and the resulting images;
    • Logging pitches and proposals into the relevant database(s);
    • Making changes to BD & Marketing collateral;
    • CV maintenance and management of regular updates;
    • Boilerplate information maintenance;
    • Social media including creation, posting and tracking;
    • Providing logo packs to third parties;
    • Invoicing and budget coding;
    • Supporting on the delivery of events, both in person and virtual;
    • Marketing list support and management;
    • Maintaining deal and matter databases;
    • Running reports from relevant systems and databases;
    • Maintaining BD & Marketing information on the firm intranet / internal apps;
    • Support on awards and directory submissions (including referee spreadsheets); and
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Key skills and Qualifications:
  • A keen demonstrable interest (showcased through work experiences or study) in BD & Marketing of professional services, showing an understanding of basic marketing principles and ideally an interest in digital marketing (including social media and creating website content);
  • A university degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant field (ideally Marketing or Business), is of interest but not essential – we are equally interested in those who have gained professional experience in the field;
  • Experience using the InterAction CRM, or Vuture (campaign management) – or similar platforms an advantage but not essential;
  • Creative thinking and an eye for layout, design and branding consistency;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail;
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and willing to learn new systems;
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines;
  • Ability to analyse information and present it clearly;
  • Professional manner and confidence when working with colleagues and partners;
  • Team player who enjoys supporting others and contributing to shared goals; and
  • Proactive, willing to take ownership of tasks and comfortable asking questions.
