You’ll deliver SCA-accredited courses, coach and mentor baristas, and shape how our teams learn and develop, from first-day foundations to advanced skills. Whether you’re running sessions in our training space or working alongside hospitality partners on site, you’ll play a key role in building capability, consistency, and confidence while strengthening the coffee community that defines Origin.

What you'll do
Barista Training & Development
  • Deliver Foundation, Intermediate, and Professional-level training in Barista Skills, Sensory, Brewing, and Technical at Origin’s training locations for both wholesale and retail baristas.
  • Conduct monthly SCA educational sessions and guide participants through certification programs.
  • Mentor baristas, encouraging them to develop their craft and pursue competitions.
  • Provide on-site coaching to wholesale customers to ensure their teams maintain exceptional coffee quality.
  • Support the delivery of Origin’s Home Enthusiast courses, mentoring baristas to become confident, capable, and ready to deliver them independently.
  • Support Wholesale Managers in coffee tastings to reinforce quality consistency.
Coffee Quality & Standards
  • Conduct quality control checks at Origin’s retail sites to ensure high brewing standards.
  • Collaborate with retail teams to enhance brewing techniques and customer experience.
  • Curate seasonal feature coffee recipes, inspiring home brewers and wholesale partners.
Coffee Competitions & Industry Engagement
  • Coach and support baristas preparing for industry competitions.
  • Organise internal competitions to nurture talent and celebrate excellence.
Events, Tastings & Community Engagement
  • Plan and host coffee events at customer locations and the roastery.
  • Lead roastery tours, introducing visitors to Origin’s ethos and craft.
  • Partner with the Education Manager, Director of Coffee and other Origin coffee professionals to deliver monthly tasting sessions for wholesale and retail partners.
  • Conduct coffee tastings for retail and hospitality clients.

Please note: this role will include occasional evening and weekend commitments.
