A regional health board in Wales is looking for a Bank Public Health Dietetic Support Worker to engage communities and support positive health initiatives. The role requires NVQ level 3 in Health and relevant experience in health care settings. Responsibilities include working with a multidisciplinary team and providing guidance to service users. The salary is £24,937 to £26,598 per year, pro rata.

The opportunity has arisen to employ Dietetic Support Worker's on the bank at CTMUHB to work with children and families or adults to deliver a range of community based initiatives; utilising a range of agreed approaches to support positive changes to food, nutrition, and physical activity behaviours. They will support the local delivery and evaluation of Nutrition Skills for LifeTM services.
The successful candidates will receive a range of training opportunities and work alongside fellow Dietetic Assistant Practitioners in Public Health Dietetics, under the guidance of the Senior Public Health Dietitians. They will receive weekly supervision sessions with a registered dietitian and will work closely with a range of partner agencies to promote positive healthy lifestyle behaviours.
The post holder will be expected to take a range of anthropometric measurements
Provide a vital link between primary care professionals and the community they are working in, to support and empower service users to make the changes they identify to improve their health and wellbeing
Work in partnership, ensuring good communication with the multidisciplinary team e.g. medical staff, Public Health, community nurses, Social Services, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and other areas appropriate.
On a one to one basis offer information and guidance to service users to support and encourage them to improve their health
Undertake clinical interventions delegated by a registered Dietitian namely.
