A local hospital facilities management company is seeking a motivated and adaptable Bank Chef to work in Scarborough, Bridlington, and Malton. Scarborough Hospital Catering Department requires an enthusiastic Bank Chef to work in the Main Kitchens of the Catering Department, across the East Coast Hospitals.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to be adaptable and flexible, in order to work variable hours. You must be able to use initiative, be self-motivated and have strong interpersonal and organisational/time management skills.

Applicants must be able to work under pressure, prioritise their own workload and be able to carry out physical tasks.

Must have a Driving Licence

Main duties of the job

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation & Cooking Tasks
  • Maintenance of Hygiene Standards
  • Food Safety, Assured Safe Catering Health and Safety Legislation
  • Follow Department procedures and good practices
  • Keeping the kitchen areas clean
  • Monitoring food temperatures as part of HACCP
  • Washing up and other general cleaning duties
  • Knowledge of Special Diets
  • Organise daily working plan prioritising
  • Reorganise menus at short notice

The ideal candidate will have catering experience, be fantastic with customers, a good team player and able to work on their own unsupervised. Full training will also be provided. Enhanced rates apply when working at the weekend.
