Overview

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) invite applications for an Art Psychotherapist to join our expanding Secure Care and Offender Health Services (SCOH) across the Trust. This is a permanent position at the CAMEO service, based at HMP Foston Hall, Derby – a personality disorder treatment service within the prison estate for female service users with complex needs. You will be part of the Secure Care and Offender Health Team and the trust-wide Arts Psychotherapies Service. We have a growing network of arts psychotherapists across Community Hubs, Secure Care and Offender Health, and Specialist Services with a career structure from entry-level to Consultant Art Psychotherapist. We welcome applications from motivated people interested in working with complex presentations, including personality disorders, who can balance clinical need with risk management. We seek candidates who are motivated, dynamic and forward-thinking.

Responsibilities
  • The post holder will support the direct assessment, formulation and delivery of interventions to address the full range of complex forensic mental health problems.
  • They will also produce risk assessments and behavioural management plans as a Lead Clinician and provide psychologically informed advice and support for those directly involved in the care of the individual.
  • They would support training, supervision and evaluation of the delivery of individual behavioural management plans, risk management activity and service user involvement.
  • The post holder will have experience in supervising others and be able to identify and co-ordinate the need for systemic support.
