Main duties of the job

8W ward is a 32 bedded acute medicine for the Elderly ward on 8th floor of the Royal Free Hospital. The patients on the ward are cared in an environment that provides comfort, safety and support for their stay. we encourage innovation and work closely with an inspiring team of nurses, medics, dementia specialist, therapist, discharge co coordinators, to ensure out our patients remain active and engaged. Our aim is to provide high quality acute medical and multi-professional care for our patients, allowing speedy diagnosis, treatment and transfer, or discharge back to the community.

We are looking for a dynamic ward manager to join our outstanding team

You will be expected to play a key role in the management and strategic development of the ward, working closely with our Matron and Clinical Lead to deliver a challenging agenda; provide a high-quality service to patients and a positive working environment for our staff.

We are looking for an adaptable, expert clinical nurse with an interest in Elderly Medicine, with strong leadership skills. The ability to communicate well with a multidisciplinary team is vital.

You will be supported by a Clinical Practice Educator, a team of band 6 nurses, a very engaged team of consultants and a senior management team.

This post provides an opportunity for an experienced nurse to gain operational experience, whilst leading, supporting and developing the multidisciplinary team, overseeing service quality, and quality improvement.
