Act as a Senior Clinical Radiographer / Team Leader in thePre Treatment area of Radiotherapy within the Radiotherapy department of theBerkshire Cancer Centre. The successfulcandidate will be required to work within the treatment section of thedepartment across both Reading (Hub) and Bracknell (satellite) sites.

Main duties of the job
  • Use and develop clinical evidence-based knowledge and actively participate in, and develop pre-treatment and treatment practices.
  • Ensure accurate delivery of pre-treatment clinical exposures by appropriate delegation of duties to staff, by checking prescriptions and to ensure that extra supervisory support is organised where necessary.
  • Have specialist/expert knowledge on all aspects of the treatments administered in the department and to provide support and expert advice on treatment techniques and any associated pre-treatment tasks. This includes specialised knowledge on the implications of treatment for the patients, providing specialist support for patients.
  • Inform medical staff of changes in patient condition, feasibility of the treatment prescription and potential treatment difficulties, and be available to discuss treatment problems with clinicians and the MDT.
  • Use specialist knowledge to make clinical judgements whilst adhering to clinical protocols and giving consideration to complex factors, such as validity/safety/ accuracy of treatment (in relation to technique, patient etc).

Experience
  • Previous experience in the use of Elekta treatment Linacs and Mosaiq treatment delivery system.
Qualifications
  • Hold a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic or Therapeutic Radiography (or an equivalent qualification approved by the HCPC).
  • You must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Diagnostic or Therapeutic Radiographer.
